I joke with my kids from time to time about being the "Meanest Mom in the World", I even have a cup with the "Meanest Mother in the World" poem printed on it.
Sometimes they call me the "Meanest Mom in the World", but they aren't joking! It's usually, Mom, can I spend the night at Meg's house, I say no, you've been sick. All of a sudden I'm the meanest Mom in the world. I say, get off your cell phone and get to bed. The oldest whispers into the phone, I got to go, the "Meanest Mom in the World" just caught me
Okay, what do you think meanest Mom or entitled child. I have three children ages 10, 14 and 16. My 14 year old son, who has had a sports activity every night this week, says he wants to go to the high school basketball game tonight. I say no, you've been out every night, you need to stay home. His response is "I always find my own rides, so why do you care?" Well let me say first that we do have a number of carpools but this boy has rarely arranged a ride of his own. All of a sudden he's got this independent attitude and I'm about to step on him like a bug. Did I mention, that he said this while I was driving him to school this morning.
So that's the boy, I can't wait to tell you about the girls.
